Trek

Tom and I had the privilege of taking our youth on a pioneer trek in Wyoming! We planned for this trip for almost a year, and although not everything went according to plan, everything went perfect. We had an amazing experience (despite the ticks, mosquitoes, and lack of showers) that I will never forget. The spirit at Martins Cove, Willie Handcart site, and Rock Creek Hollow, is so strong, that you come away with such a strong desire to better serve Heavenly Father. I apologize for not taking many pictures, I was to busy having a great experience! This is me and my friend Shayna (weird huh!) We are looking very authentic as we pack lunches.

We had about 45 youth and the first wagon was my "family". I had 10 kids including a set of twins! The cute little one in the front is Greg. He just turned 12 and was the funnest kid! He always had to be pulling the handcart!
Can you find me? I am in a blue shirt with sunglasses on, closest to you.

This was our woman's pull. Long, hard and wonderful!

This is a group of the Ma's and Pa's reading a monument about the Willie rescue. Keep in mind we have not showered for 4 days in this picture!

My perfect pioneer partner!

Thanks for finally sharing some of those pictures! I nearly cried seeing them because of the stories you told me. Like the picture of the woman's pull, and the picture of the cute little 12 year old. What a wonderful experience. And that's a great picture of you and your "perfect pioneer partner".

Shana you are so cute! You could totally be a pioneer women, by looks!! I loved trek when I was a teen and went! Cory said it looks like fun and he'd like being a ma and Pa. I think it'd be good for him since he never got to go on one! Maybe next year!! Thanks for sharing!
