Campfire in November?

It may be cold but it can still be done! For family home evening tonight Tom was set on trying out our new fire pit. We had tried to all summer and never got around to it, so better late than never I guess. We sang a song, and shared our testimonies, and then Reese decided to stay out and roast a marshmallow! Kira opted to come in with me and Jed for some hot chocolate! Smart girl! Anyway it was very fun. Maybe we will have to make it a pre-Thanksgiving tradition!

Sweet

I could not think of a better title for this post! We just got done finalizing our adoption and it was so sweet!

They had a big celebration at the courthouse because it was National Adoption Day. They gave each child a teddy bear and each family a cake!

Judge Krohl wanted to get a peek at Jed who was such a good boy and slept through the whole proceeding. Of course shortly after that he make up for sleeping by giving us a good squal! He had a sore tummy that day and was already in his second outfit here! And of course he had to throw up all over me right before we walked into the courtroom!
Tammie rice was trying to help me untangle all the balloons. CASI was great to work with throughout this whole process and I am grateful to them for all their hard work.

This was my favorite part! It was like getting married! It was very solemn. The judge asked us if we promised to love and care for Jed his whole life. Of course we were anxious to say yes!

Reese made Jed a paper hat to help him celebrate!
I was suprised at how emotional I was. It was so neat to know that legally he is now known as Jedidiah Steven Mortensen, and that he is our son! It is difficult to convey the love I feel for him, and the way in wich he fits perfectly into our family. I think this will always be a tender memory. I look forward to sealing him to us for all eternity.

Trick or Treat

I was a little lazy about Jed's costume, but he still looked cute!
Kira and Reese were a Ninja and a "sorceress of the mist" they are showing you the moves here

Reese is lucky he didn't drop Jed!

I am pretending to have dressed up as an Indian ( I know I am lame)

Grandma was awesome this weekend! Thanks for all your help mom, you always make things more fun!

This was the house that won the "wow" award in my book!

Kira is so cute with Jed. She is a huge help!

Grandma was playing this little piggy with Mitchel. He was laughing so hard and it was cute!

Mitchel loved Jed! He was so cute and sweet with him. He rubs his head and pats his cheeks and just jabbers at him! It was so fun!
